PBIS: School Wide Behavior Policy
PBIS (positive behavior intervention support) is the school wide behavior plan that will be implemented this year. Your child will be working towards being a positive member in our learning community and school. Included below is a document showing the school wide K-5 behavior expectations for each area in the school. You will also see the classroom expectations poster that is hung up in our classroom. Students will be given jet fuel tickets when they show positive behavior (see below for all images). At the end of the month, the students have the opportunity to use the tickets for some sort of classroom reward (ie, wear slippers to school, bring a snack to school, classroom extra recess, etc). Minor classroom behaviors will be documented by classroom teachers using the following system:
-1st tally: verbal warning and reteaching
-2nd tally: think sheet completed and sent home and reteaching during recess
-3rd tally: call home (by teacher or student) and reteaching during recess
-4th tally: office discipline referral (4 offenses/tallies in one minor category (ie. defiance, disruption, incomplete work, etc.)
A copy of this plan will come home with your child the 1st day of school.
